Disaster relief
Time and again there are catastrophic natural events in which Clinic Nepal helps with targeted missions or projects. During the monsoon floods that occur every summer, help is provided with accommodation and food supplies.
After the terrible earthquake of 2015, an entire mountain village (Thumka) not far from the epicentre of the earthquake was rebuilt. This extraordinary achievement was only possible thanks to the rapid mobilisation of donations and volunteers.
During the Corona pandemic, Clinic Nepal supported measures of the official bodies, among other things by organising soup kitchen actions and distributing rice packages (sacks of rice and lentils). Posters and flyers with pictorial explanations of the hygiene measures and distancing rules were distributed.
Corona funding: The Förderkreis Friendship Clinic Nepal e.V. received funding of EUR 10,000 from the Foundation for Development Cooperation (SEZ) Baden-Württemberg for a Covid awareness programme with posters and flyers.
The flash flood in Nepal and Tibet in August 2026 along the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers hit dozens of settlements, mainly in the Nepalese districts of Rasuwa and Nuwakot. Triggered by a glacier collapse and rock slide in the Himalaya, it caused massive damage and claimed numerous lives. The population of Meghauli was fortunately not affected. At the time of the flood disaster only the state organised aid for the flood victims, and private organisations were not yet permitted. Clinic Nepal is planning health camps in the flooded areas.
