Friendship Scout Troop Meghauli

The Friendship Scout Troop Meghauli was founded in 2005. Clinic Nepal runs it together with a second group in Daldale (since 2015). The group has 42 members in total.

They meet every Saturday morning for two hours at the camp site in Dharampur, Meghauli. Games, English lessons, painting, music and crafts teach life skills, responsibility and teamwork here.

Environmental awareness and social cooperation

Here, in the course of joint activities, children learn the basics of social cooperation, important things about hygiene and environmental protection measures. In 2024/25 the scouts distributed 27 sets of rubbish bins in the village and painted them with designs and slogans so that less litter is left lying around. They also built rings for collecting rubbish and handed out cotton bags to avoid plastic bags.

Further actions: a clean-up at Bhojraj Mandir in Buddhanagar, an eye check-up campaign for the village and a first aid training by Medic Force. As an action against climate change, a total of 5,000 trees were planted in 2020/2021. During the Corona pandemic the scouts went from house to house in Meghauli and Bharatpur and explained protective measures.

Scout camps

The Meghauli scout group hosts its own camp every year. Every four years it even hosts an international camp for foreign and Nepali scouts. Scouts from various countries, among them the Namaste Nepal Scouts from the UK, contribute their knowledge during their visits and exchange ideas.
