A centre for trade and encounter

The Chitrawan Haat Bazaar was inaugurated in December 2017, and the first market took place on 3 February 2018. It was the first market of its kind in Western Chitwan; today there are similar ones in several places in Chitwan.

The hall gives farmers and artisans from the area the opportunity to sell and buy goods. It also serves as a collection point for products sold at larger markets, as an emergency shelter and as a venue for events.

Market day

The market takes place every Saturday from 10 am to 9 pm. Stalls offer clothing, cosmetics, fruit, vegetables, fish, food and sweets, and there are dance and cultural programmes. Vendors pay a stall fee and so finance the long-term upkeep.
