Children's home and orphanage

From 2002 to 2024/25 the “Aasha ko Kiran” children's home in Daldale was a home for orphans and children from very poor backgrounds, most recently for 31 children. It was closed because the agreement for the land could not be renewed after 23 years.

A home for children in need

From 2002 to 2024/25 the children's home in Daldale was a home for orphans and children from very poor backgrounds, most recently for 31 children aged 5 to 16. The house had ten bedrooms, three bathrooms, guest rooms for volunteers and a library with a computer room. In September 2022 a short circuit destroyed the kitchen and dining house. Nobody was hurt. Because the agreement for the land could not be renewed after 23 years, the home was closed. Some of the children live with their parents again – Clinic Nepal continues to cover their school costs – while others attend Divya Academy.

Education as a way out of poverty

After finishing school, Clinic Nepal financed subsequent vocational training for those with the best reports. In this way, children who would otherwise have had no chances received a real prospect for their lives. Former children of the home studied engineering, nursing, management and agricultural science with support from Clinic Nepal.
