Aid project of the spare-cent donation and Clinic Nepal experience report December 2023

The staff council of Freiburg University Hospital has supported Clinic Nepal for several years. As a paediatric nurse at the hospital, Mathilda Hilgenfeld shares her experiences as a volunteer on site.

For several years now the staff council of Freiburg University Hospital has supported the work of “Clinic Nepal” with the help of donations from the employees. This is a versatile project founded in 1997 which works for better health and social care for the people of Meghauli in the south of Nepal.

There is the possibility of working in the project as part of an assignment abroad. Mathilda Hilgenfeld, most recently a paediatric nurse at the hospital and former chair of the JAV (youth and trainee representation), made use of this. We are pleased that Mathilda shares her impressions and experiences with us and that we may publish them here for you.
